The former police athlete of the year has been successfully competing among the world’s best in barefoot water skiing for many years.
Bielefeld. The best police athletes of 2016 from North Rhine-Westphalia were honored in Bochum on Wednesday. Three members of the Bielefeld police headquarters were also invited to the event this year.
Once a year, Interior Minister Ralf Jäger honors, among other things, athletes who have achieved particularly outstanding achievements in various sports at national and international championships.
Chief Police Commissioner Svenja Hempelmann took part in the award ceremony once again. The former police athlete of the year has been successfully competing among the world’s best in barefoot water skiing for many years.
She ended the 2016 season with, among other things, first place at the European Championships in Sweden and second place overall at the World Championships in Wisconsin/USA.
