Wow! Team Belgium has outdone itself, what a performance!!

Celine Vrancx won gold in the overall ranking. Gold in figures, silver in jumping and bronze in slalom.

Warre Geerts achieved gold in jumping, bronze in figures and a 4th place in slalom. Together good for silver in overall.

In addition to Warre and Celine, Tyas Vanduffel (for the first time in the open series), Marc Simons and Jarre Michiels also participated. Jarre also came to taste the European Championship atmosphere for the first time and made a nice entrance with a PB in slalom and jump. It had been years since such a large Belgian team went to the European Championships. Great team!

Celine is the very first Belgian woman to win European Championship gold in overalls

History has been made at the 2023 European Championships. After all, it was not until 1999 that a Belgian could excel on the highest podium in an open category in the overall.

We have had some very tough skiers in the past. Marc Strobbe was the first in 1979 with gold in the overall. Later, Jason Neiman, Bart Sileghem and finally Jan Baillien followed in the 80s and 90s, who with his gold medals in 1997 and 1999 was the last Belgian to win the European Championship overall. But Celine is the first woman to achieve this. A top achievement to be proud of.
